Bettinghaus

Former Dean of the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University, Dr. Bettinghaus has been a leader in researching and teaching communication since the early 50's. He has served on several national advisory committees helping to guide the U.S. cancer programs and policies, including a presidential appointment to the National Cancer Advisory Board for the National Cancer Institute. His research interests include the use of the media to change behaviors, and the design and testing of persuasive messages. He has a particular concern with reducing tobacco use across the globe.
