Sarah Greene, MPH

Greene

Ms. Greene is a Research Associate at the Group Health Research Institute in Seattle, Washington. Ms. Greene's research interests include health communication, behavior change, and social marketing. Her current research is in the areas of health literacy and communication, cancer quality, and approaches to improving the conduct of multicenter research. From 1999-2003, she was the Program Director for the NCI-funded Cancer Research Network (CRN), a consortium of HMOs studying the effectiveness of cancer control interventions. She oversaw all programmatic activities and contributed to scientific and methodologic components of several CRN studies, including long-term outcomes of prophylactic mastectomy and strategies for measuring the effectiveness of research consortia. More recently, she has published articles related to improving the readability of research materials, risk communication strategies for breast cancer chemoprevention, and the use of information technology innovations to improve cancer care. Ms. Greene earned a Bachelor's Degree with Distinction from Indiana University, double-majoring in Psychology and Italian. Her Master's in Public Health is also from Indiana University. Ms. Greene is an avid practitioner of yoga, and enjoys volleyball, bicycling, and cooking.
