2011 CECCR Meeting

CECCR 2011

On October 10-12, the five Centers for Excellence in Cancer Communication Research (CECCR) gathered at Washington University in St. Louis for a three day meeting. During this time, members of the CECCRs had the chance to share their research through posters, presentations, and panels. Speakers during this meeting included members of the five CECCRS, as well as leaders from the National Cancer Institute (NCI), the American Cancer Society (ACS), and university faculty.

The CECCR is currently in its second iteration (CECCR II), which is primarily focused on patient-centered communication. The CECCR is a central part of the NCI's Extraordinary Opportunity in Cancer Communication, which is a broad initiative that supports research and outreach aimed at increasing the knowledge about, tools for, access to, and use of cancer communications by the public, patients, and the health professionals (see http://www.cancercontrol.cancer.gov/hcirb/ceccr/overview.html).
