Improving Physician-Parent Communication to Reduce Home Medication Errors and Improve Adherence in Children
PI: Kathleen Walsh, MD, MSc, Fallon Clinic
Specific aims are:
1. to assess parent understanding of physician instructions about home medication regimens for children with cancer.
2. to assess the extent to which understanding of the rationale for the specific medications in the home regimen impacts medication errors in the home and nonadherence.
3. to develop an intervention to improve physician-patient communication about home medication regimens for children with cancer.
4. to assess the feasibility of disseminating this communication tool using the RE-AIM framework.
