Increasing Parent Understanding of Cancer Treatment: Focusing on HoMeS
PI: Kathleen Walsh, MD, MSc, University of Massachusetts Medical School
This study will enhance and disseminate the Home Medication Support (HoMeS) calendar developed during Dr. Walsh's pilot work related to this to improve the implementation of pediatric cancer treatment protocols and reduce errors in pediatric cancer care.
Specific aims are:
1. to develop a web-based toolkit containing materials, including HoMeS, designed to improve parent understanding of, communication about, and implementation of cancer treatment protocols in the home setting.
2. to conduct a preliminary evaluation of the effectiveness of the toolkit at improving parent understanding of, communication about, and implementation of cancer treatment protocols in the home setting.
3. to disseminate the toolkit utilizing the CRN CCRC dissemination core resources.
